HET WIJKPALEIS, Rotterdam
September 2026
In preparation for the 'Care and Repair Lunch', we came together around the table to stitch a tablecloth collectively.
We asked ourselves: 'What memory of a meal made you feel cared for and nourished?' Each of us then made a patch connected to this memory.
By stitching these patches together to form a map of our collective memories, we created a textile shaped by all the participants' hands and created a moment of sharing around the table.
We then prepared a salad to go with the delicious food cooked by Benjamin, Aisha, and Sabina, who used food leftovers from the supermarkets that would otherwise have been wasted.
