“Container of Distance”, the second exhibition of feminist Filipino-Chinese artist Elisa Tan (1937–2022), highlighted her conceptual and minimalist practice exploring language, migration, and belonging.
During my apprenticeship at the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (MCAD) in Metro Manila, I collaborated on the development of the exhibition, which brought together her wide range of envelopes, artist’s books, and performances.
